Joseph (Joe) P. Mazurek joined the Helena office in 2001 following the completion of eight years of service as the Montana Attorney General. Mr. Mazurek will concentrate in the areas of commercial, real estate, administrative law, as well as government relations, including legislative affairs.

Mr. Mazurek was raised in Helena and received Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Montana in 1970. Following two years of service in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery, he attended the University of Montana Law School and graduated in 1975. He was engaged in private practice in Helena for nearly 18 years before being elected attorney general. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Montana and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Mazurek served in the Montana State Senate from 1981 to 1993 during which time he was Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee for two sessions and was elected as President of the Senate from 1991 to 1993. He is a member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Montana and the First Judicial District Bar Association, of which he is a past president. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Stillwater Mining Company the Helena Symphony Society and the Montana Club.
